Jinan Museum has a vast collection of cultural relics, many of which are rarities of the country, such as Yachou Lei(an ancient urn-shaped bronze wine-vessel named Yachou) of the Shang Dynasty, the colored earthen dancing and acrobatic figurines unearthed from the tomb of the early Western Han Dynasty and the earthen turtledove carrying two kettles of Han Dynasty. 'Jin Yin Ping Tuo' mirror(bronze mirror decorated with rolled gold and silver of the Tang Dynasty, underglaze red vase named 'Yuhuchun' of the Yuan Dynasty, the blue and white porcelain plate carved with bouquets of lotus of the Ming Dynasty.Beneath the astounding pretty surface are stories with the depth and breath of the history.Being well-preserved,Yachou Lei of the Shang Dynasty is a class A cultural relics under state-level protection. It has a smooth and glossy surface covered with delicate and exquisite patterns and was declared top of its category. We are fortunate to see such a treasure thanks to checking of the material recovery warehouse during 1959 to 1960.Excavated from the Han Dynasty tomb in Wuying Mountain, the colored earthen dancing and acrobatic figurines is the highlight of the museum. It consists of a rectangular pan and twenty-one figurines.which were both made from clay. The figurines were equally divided into three groups, the musician, the performer and the audience. It is the earliest set of figurines that reflects the dancing and acrobatic performance of the Western Han Dynasty found in China by now. This set of figurines and the turtledove carrying kettles are the first-class national cultural relics as well.Elaborate 'Jin Yin Ping Tuo' mirror(bronze mirror decorated with rolled gold and silver) of the Tang Dynasty was discovered from the Tang Dynasty tomb in Jinan Central Hospital in 1971.The front is as bright as a new one,and the back is glittering with gold and silver patterns that were made through a special craft processing.
