For instance,in the Romantic period of English literature,Romantic poets employed a lot of figures and stories in the Greek and Roman mythology in order to express their own feelings. English Romantic poet,Percy Bysshe Shelley who used his whole life to feel the inner spirit,is the adorer and expositor of the Greek and Roman mythology. In this paper,Shelley's Ode to the West Wind and Prometheus unbound were chosen to explore the influence of the Greek and Roman mythology on the poetry of Shelley. On one hand, the ancient Greek and Roman mythology makes the poems of Shelley more charming. On the other hand, the poems reflect a kind of inheriting and developing of the ancient Greek and Roman mythology.
