Objective To explore the effect of simulation-based teaching in nursing education of nurse-patient conflicts. Meth-ods Effects of simulation versus classroom-based nurse-patient conflicts education respectively for the experimental or the control group nursing students of our college were compared in the controlled trial and assessed with questionnaires and self-evaluation. Re-sults Performances of students in the experimental group were significantly better than that of the control group in terms of develop-ment of learning motivation (88% vs. 21%), initiative (100% vs. 11%), participation (92% vs. 9%), comprehension of learning materials (94% vs. 12%), interpersonal communication skills (97% vs. 5%), abilities of problem solving in the field (87% vs. 6%) and desire of further inquiry (88% vs. 14%, P〈0. 01). Conclusion Simulation-based teaching is superior to the traditional teaching in nursing education of patient-nurse conflicts, which is worthy of popularization and application.
