Clinical Overview of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Intervention of Pregnancy Cough

中医药治疗妊娠咳嗽具有安全、有效、方便等西医西药无可替代的优势,临床上被广泛应用。中医药对于妊娠咳嗽的干预,尤其是早期干预具有非常重要的意义,能够满足孕妇对于优生优育的要求。现对妊娠咳嗽的病因病机、治疗原则及方药等方面予以概括总结。妊娠咳嗽分为外感、痰饮、阴虚、气虚几种常见类型,其治疗则是根据孕妇特有的生理特点及辨证分型,给予养阴润肺清热,止咳化痰补肾,重治肺,兼顾脾,止嗽与安胎补肾并举。

Traditional Chinese medicine is widely used clinically in the treatment of pregnancy cough for its advantages such as safety, effective- ness, convenience and so on, that are irreplaceable for Western medicine. On the whole, traditional Chinese medicine has very important sig- nificance for the intervention of the pregnancy cough, especially early intervention, which can satisfy the needs of pregnant women for eugenics. Now we got the summary about etiology and pathogenesis, therapeutic principles, prescriptions and drugs of pregnancy cough. In the clinical, pregnancy cough is divided into several common types, like exogenous, phlegm retention, yin deficiency and qi deficiency. The treatment prin- ciple is based on peculiar physiological characteristics of pregnant women and syndrome differentiation type. There are mainly nourishing yin and moistening lung, clearing heat, relieving cough and reducing sputum, tonifying kidney and so on. In the treatment, lung must be given more consideration, and then spleen. Both relieving cough and tonifying kidney for preventing miscarriage are important.
