甲戌本《石头记》首页:胡适撕去了谁的印章?

胡适先生为首次影印甲戌本《石头记》所写跋文中说"首叶前三行的下面撕去了一块纸","毁去了最后收藏人的印章",却未明言"谁有意毁去了谁的印章"。因他对首页残缺状况的两次介绍前后矛盾,且均与影印本不符,引起研究者对甲戌本来历和真伪的疑惑,有学者甚至因此质疑其学术诚信。比较甲戌本原本、影印本和周汝昌录副本首页状况,结合胡适题跋、周汝昌与胡适往来书信、周汝昌著作等全面分析,足可证明撕书者乃胡适本人,胡适所谓"最后收藏人"实指周汝昌,毁去的是周汝昌两方"顨父"印章。胡适关于甲戌本首页的"假语存"与"真事隐"发人深思,对红学史料辩伪不无启发意义。

In Mr. Hushi's postscript of original photocopy of Jiaxu version The Story of the Stone,some sentences were'Someone tore a slide of paper below the first three lines apart','Losing the last collector's seals',but never point out 'Someone tore someone else's seals apart on purpose,and who ‘someone 'and ‘someone else'are'. Because the introduction to the incomplete condition of the first page twice were contradictory and did not conform to the photocopy. The conflicting expression caused researcher's doubt about the Jiaxu version's origin and whether it true or not,and some scholars even called into questions on Mr. Hushi's academic honesty. Considering comprehensively the original,the photocopy of Jiaxu version and the first page condition of Zhou Ruchang's copy,Hushi's preface and postscript,Zhou Ruchang's books and letters between them,it can be verified that Hushi was the person that tore the three lines of the first page apart,the so-called ‘the last collector'was Zhou Ruchang actually,and Hushi tore the two ‘Xunfu'seals apart. Hushi's the conflicting words about the first page of Jiaxu version gave readers much to think about,which enlightened to distinguish between truth and falsehood of the material in studies of Hongloumeng.
