On Xie Zhuang's Works

谢庄兼长辞赋、诗歌、骈文。其《月赋》以抒情写景细致著名,五言、杂言诗亦有佳作。他有不少应诏之作,文辞深奥多用典,与颜延之同为刘宋宫廷文学的代表作家。他解音律,作品多协律,是永明文学的重要先驱人物。

Xie Zhuang was good at Ci and Fu (辞赋), poetry and Pianwen(骈文). His Yuefu (《月赋》)was very well - known because of expressing his emotion and describing the scenery carefully, and there were many works of excellence in his wuyan poetry and zayan poetry. He was one of the representative authors of the court literature in the Song Dynasty, one of the Southern Dynasties, and the pioneer of the Yongming Literature.
