Yu-Hsiu Ku,a master of both humanities and science,was also a famous educator in Modern China. He advocated that the Chinese nation should base itself upon culture,and develop its culture by education. Yu-Hsiu Ku has made life-long exploration on how to develop culture by education in his long-time higher educational practice. He took cultural construction as soul of college development,and made building of academic culture as the core point of cultural construction,and practiced academic culture which was application oriented. He made faculty community obtain academic authority as the main body of cultural construction in colleges,and enabled them to have prominent positions in colleges. He viewed students as evident factor of influence,and put the allround development of students into practice. It takes much more meaning to study on the practical wisdom out of Yu-Hsiu Ku's practical exploration on higher education during the process of plotting and realizing the China dream in educational field,while higher education in our China has gone into deep areas.
