1987年莫言于《人民文学》上公开发表的中篇小说《欢乐》,曾饱受争议。小说通过着力塑造围绕着主人公齐文栋的两类人物形象,分别是以母亲、鱼翠翠为代表的女性形象和以高大同为代表的狂人形象,展现了齐文栋的悲惨命运,揭示出齐文栋走上自杀、寻求欢乐之路的必然。
