By comparing the differences between public and private pension institutions in Shanghai in terms of their basic properties, construction indexes, environmental equipments and personnel, the paper describes the current characteristics of the two pension restitutions and analyzes the main differences between them. Based on this analysis, it further discusses the problems laced by the public and private pension institutions in the current development stage, as well as the methods to alleviate these problems through the facilities planning and architectural design.
