The Development History and Tendency of Research on Language Policy and Planning

语言政策与规划研究在50多年的历程中发展迅速,著作颇丰,拥有本领域的专业期刊和相关国际会议。语言政策与规划领域的研究大体上经历了三个阶段:经典阶段、批评与幻灭阶段和学科复兴阶段,各个阶段受当时政治、经济和社会大背景的影响,研究重点各有侧重。随着研究者对相关因素的认识不断深化,研究范围逐渐扩大,研究方法与视角不断丰富,理论也得到不断修正与完善,人们也逐渐意识到语言规划活动是一项极其复杂的工程,涉及到诸多可控与不可控的因素,其跨学科的性质也越来越明显,今后学科发展也将涉及到对更多相关因素的影响研究。

The research on language policy and planning has gone through 50 years＇ fast development with abounding works, professional periodicals of its field and relevant international conference. The re search on language policy and planning has generally experienced three stages, classical stage, stage of criticism and disillusionment and subject revival. Under the influence of political, economic and social background in each stage, the research emphases are focused differently. With deepening of researchers＇ understanding of relevant factors, the range of research has gradually been enlarged, the method and perspective of research have been enriched, and the theory has constantly been corrected and perfected. People have gradually realized that language planning is quite a complicated project, involving many con- trollable and uncontrollable factors, whose interdisciplinary character becomes more and more obvious. In the future, the research on the influence on more relevant factors will be related to the development of academic subject.
