唐代墓志中用来表示人的年龄的词语很多。所谓年龄词语是指人生不同时期或不同阶段的某些特定称说形式的词语或短语,它可以是具体确定的年岁,也可以是相对模糊的人生阶段。古人的年龄很少用数字直接表示,而是用一种与年龄有关的称谓来代称。论文就唐代墓志中的年龄词语特别是新出现的词语进行考证,并试图解释其文化背景,提取其规律。

There are a lot of expressions used to define a person's age in the Tang Dynasty. The so-called age expressions refers to the word or phrase with specific calling form which in dicates the different period of a person's life. It can be a specific and definite age or relatively vague stage of life. The ancients rarely used figures to indicate one's age but they used an age-related title to in dicate age. The author makes a textual research on the age expressions especially the new expressions in the Tang Dynasty,trying to explain their cultural background and extract their own rules.
