Professor Wang Minji's Clinical Experience in Using Extra-meridian Acupuncture Points

奇穴是原有经穴之外的经验有效穴,有奇特的治病效果,甚至强于经穴,但主治疾病范围比较单一,往往是针对某种疾病特定运用,如四缝穴治小儿疳积,定喘穴治疗咳喘,二白穴治疗痔疮,太阳穴治疗头痛目疾,子宫穴治疗阴挺等。临证应用奇穴具有取穴精简,针对性强,效果卓著的特点,如果运用得当,常可事半功倍。王民集教授临床运用奇穴治疗各类疾病,包括太阳穴透刺法治疗三叉神经痛、偏头痛、牙痛;针刺臂中穴治疗急性乳腺炎、乳腺增生;针刺四神聪穴治疗不寐、呆痴,疗效显著。

The extra-meridian acupuncture points are acupuncture points outside of meridians used in medical treatment,the medical effect of which is even stronger than that of the acupuncture point along meridians. The Extra-meridian Points are often used in treating for certain diseases. For example,Sifeng acupuncture point is used in treatment of infantile Malnutrition,Dingchuan acupuncture point in treatment of cough,Erbai acupuncture point in treatment of Hemorrhoids,Taiyang acupuncture point in treatment of headache and eye diseases,Zigong acupuncture point in treating for uterine prolapse and the like. In clinical applications of extra-meridian acupuncture points good medical effect can be achieved. Professor Wang Minji has used that in treatment of various diseases,including using Taiyang penetration acupuncture in treatment of trigeminal neuralgia,migraine,toothache,using Bizhong acupuncture point in the treatment of acute mastitis and breast hyperplasia,using Sishencong acupuncture point in treatment of insomnia and dementia.
