Interpret the Reasons Leading to Helga's Tragedy in Quicksand from the Perspective Ethical Literary

《流沙》描述了一位黑白混血儿女性海尔嘉因追寻幸福而不断变换生存空间但最后却以悲剧结局的故事。本文通过运用文学伦理学批评理论,追溯海尔嘉在伦理意识觉醒之后,在主客观条件相互作用下做出的伦理选择,并分析影响她做出伦理选择的因素。她通过不断转换自己的生存空间来与现实的伦理环境抗争并获取伦理认同,但由于失序的伦理环境和自身条件的限制,海尔嘉迷失了自我做出了错误的伦理选择,致使她灵和肉都陷入了流沙之中。这是种族矛盾尖锐的时代环境下黑白混血儿不可逃避的悲哀与无奈。海尔嘉的悲剧值得深思,更给现实中的人们以教诲。

Quicksand described a mulatto woman named Helga Crane who continuously changes her living space in pursuit of happiness yet her life ended as a tragedy, this paper, through ethical literary criticism, reviewed the ethical choices made under the interaction of subjective and objective elements after Helga＇s awakening in ethical c^on^iousness, and analyzed the factors that affected her making these ethical choices. Helga struggled with the realistic ethical environment and achieved ethical agreement by constantly changing her living space, however, due to her own restrictions and being a misorder ethical environment, Helga was lost in ethics and made wrong ethical choices to the point that both spirit and flesh were mired in quicksand. That sorriness and holplessness are what mulattos cannot escape from when racial conflict was at it＇ s climax. Helga tragedy worth our pondering and it gives lessons to people in real life.
