随着人们生活水平的提高,糖尿病(DM)呈现逐年上升趋势,继肿瘤和心脑血管病之后,成为世界第三大疾病。糖尿病周围神经炎(DPN)是DM所致神经病变中最常见的一种[1],也是主要致残因素之一。糖尿病周围神经炎(DPN)两侧对称,一般下肢比上肢重,并以感觉障碍突出,运动障碍相对较轻,严重者可出现足趾、手指无力甚至肌肉萎缩。检查常发现袜套、手套样感觉障碍,有下肢腱反射减退或消失。临床表现以凉、麻、痛、痿四大主症为特点。由于本病起病隐匿,进程缓慢,给治疗造成一定困难。近年来,中医药在控制症状、改善客观指标和远期疗效方面都显示了一定优势。

With the improvement of people＇s living standard, the diabetes mellitus（DM） showed a trend of rising year by year, fol-lowing the tumor and cardio-cerebrovascular disease, it became the world＇s third largest disease. Diabetic peripheral neuropathy（DPN） is one of the most common neuropathys caused by the DM, and is also one of the major disability factors. DPN has bilateral symmetry, generally the lower limbs are more serious than the upper body, and the feeling obstacle is outstanding, movement disor-ders are relatively mild, severe cases can appear toes, fingers weakness or muscle atrophy. Checks often finds socks and gloves sen-sory disorder, and has lower limb tendon reflex drops or disappear. Cool, hemp, pain and impotent are four primary symptoms. Due to the hidden onset of the disease and slow, it brought certain difficulties for treatment. In recent years, Chinese traditional medicine showed certain advantages on controlling the symptoms, improving the objective index and the long-term curative effect.
