摘要
杜威的一生与美国大学教育学科结下了不解之缘,他以大学教育学科为主要平台和基地来从事教育学理论研究,建立教育学课程体系,并创设实验学校,从而为19至20世纪美国大学教育学科的建设和发展作出了卓越的贡献。系统考察杜威在芝加哥大学和哥伦比亚大学的相关活动和业绩,不仅有助于展现这一时期美国大学教育学科建设和发展的总体面貌,而且可为当今我国大学教育学科的改革和发展提供有益的借鉴。
John Dewey was irrevocably committed to education as an academic discipline in American universities. He took education as the main platform and base to carry out theo- retical study of education, found education curriculum system and creat the laboratory school, making outstanding contributions to the development of education in American universities from the 19th to 20th century. With the systematic study of Dewey's educational practices and achievements in University of Chicago and Columbia University, it showed the whole development situation of education as an academic discipline in American universities, but also provide us the beneficial reference for the reform of education discipline in China's universities.
