Action Research of Teaching of English Listening and Speaking Based on Cognitive Style Differences

The characteristics of field- independent and field- dependent cognitive styles are firstly introduced in the paper. Then,in the light of the theory and framework of action research,this paper discusses the way to cultivate students＇ English listening and speaking ability under the premise of respecting learners＇ cognitive style differences. The teaching mode includes the problems identified,the relative countermeasures offered,the program implemented,effects analyzed and properly evaluated,reflections made,and final implementation process specified.
