A Study on the Blue and White Plum Vase with the Pattern of Four Historical Figures and Their Favorites

摘要 本文以现存于世的两个元青花四爱图梅瓶为中心,对四爱图的文化内涵和图像结构展开讨论。通过元代文集《四爱题咏》解读元代"四爱图"题材的文化背景,阐明"四爱"文化的形成时间、接受人群、典故构成及内涵。并将主题纹饰从部分到整体地与同时代的绘画、漆器、瓷器等之上的相关文物图像进行对比研究,揭示其图像的构成、来源、影响及意义。从而总结元青花四爱图梅瓶的工艺背景、社会背景和文化内涵。 This paper analyzes the cultural connotation and pictorial representation of the two well preserved blue and white porcelain plum vases. Both of these vases were decorated with the pattern of four historical figures and their Four-favorites of the Yuan Dynasty. The establishment of the Four-favourite motifs, the audience and the content of the Four-favorite culture have been illuminated in this paper, by interpreting the cultural background with Anthology of the Four Favorites of Yuan. These motifs were also compared with related paintings, lacquered wares and porcelains of that period, to reveal composition, origin, influence and significance of the vases. Then the technical context, social back- ground and cultural meaning of the vases are summarized.
