There are countless gardening elements in Japanese courtyard.This paper focuses on the analysis of Japanese gardens from the perspective of culture,zen and practical use.It analyzes the representative gardening elements such as rocks,water,white sand,plants etc.and the position in the form of plane or elevation.In addition,this paper analyzes the characteristic of garden ornaments in detail,such as the hand water bowl,waterphone cave etc.It summarized the forms of practical elements,such as roads and fences.The article shows the historical inheritance and aesthetic connotation which embody in the external form of the garden in Japanese courtyard.
