明代宗族与地方教化——以山西潞安府仇氏家族为例

The Patriarchal Clan in Ming Dynasty and Local Civilization—— a case study of the Qiu family in the city of Lu'an of Shanxi province

山西潞安府仇氏家族在明代曾显赫一时,其家族并无达官显贵,乃以"孝义"著称于世,仇楫等五兄弟所立的《仇氏家范》、《乡约》也得到了广泛的赞誉,被视为宗族学习的榜样。在规范家族成员活动的同时,仇氏家族还特别关注公众事务,所作的诸多慈善事务为仇氏家族赢得了广泛的社会认可与崇高的声誉。到明末时,该家族迅速衰落,可作他人警醒之戒。

The Qiu family in the city of Lu＇an of Shanxi province is a very famous family. This family has no Senior officials,but they win their fame for their filial piety and goodness. The regulation about the family and the conventions about the village written by five brothers have been widely acclaimed. Except for regulating the activities of the members of the family,this family also actively participates the public affairs. The charity earned extensive social recognition and high reputation for them. By the late Ming dynasty the family rapidly declines,which is a ring of alert for others.
