On Confucian's Ideas on Females

在孔子的理论里,女性其实本没有被容纳进去,她们完全是被忽略的群体;虽然孔子也提到夫妇"敬"、男女"爱",却是为维护他的"政道"服务。礼崩乐坏的混乱社会,使女子触碰了孔子所维护的礼义道德,"女子"成了孔子要防范的群体。孔子的女性观与他生活的社会背景、思想体系一致,与他维护的礼文化、主张的人性观和义利观一致。

In Confucian theory, the female was rejected and neglected completely. Though Confucius talked about the esteem between the wife and husband, the love between man and woman, it just served his politics. And in that confusing world with falling of ceremony, the female destroyed the moral righteousness which Confucius maintained,becoming the target of all. Confucian ideas on females was consistent with the social circumstance and his whole ideological system,such as ritual culture, the human nature theory, the idea of moral and profit.
