我国的磁约束核聚变研究是在"大跃进"运动的推动下起步的,各方面的工作都带有明显的"跃进"色彩。受种种技术条件的限制,快速上马的核聚变研究未能取得"超英赶美"的预期目标。不过,这期间在研究机构建设、人才培养、实验设备研制等方面还是取得了一定的成绩,为之后我国核聚变事业的发展奠定了重要的基础。

Under the impetus of the ＂great leap forward＂, China＇s MCF research started. All aspects of the work demand ＂great leap forward＂ at that time. Due to various technical constraints, although the MCF research work failed to achieve the expected goal of surpassing Britain and USA, many important works have been finished in this period, such as the research organization constructions, personnel training, development of experimental equipment, and so on, which laid an important foundation of China＇s MCF research.
