A Study on the History of Chinese Characters and Its Carrier—— From Oracle to Computer Fonts

在汉字数千年的发展史中,汉字载体及其实现方式是影响其体态的重要因素。印刷术的发明尤其是汉字发展史上的大事件,促使宋体字得以产生,奠定了汉字与计算机结合的字体基础。与此前的汉字不同,影响汉字发展的因素不是存在于字体内部,而是来自于外部。社会实际需要基础上的文字应用是推动汉字书写载体与工具演变的根本动因,对于速度与效率的要求又使得汉字淡化了对艺术性的追求,使其不断向更便捷、更高效的方向发展。

In thousands of years history of Chinese characters, the carrier and the implementation is important factors affected the font. The invention of the printing press is especially a big event in the history of the development of Chinese characters. It brought about the naissance of the song typetace, laid the foundation characters combined with computer fonts. Unlike previous Chinese characters, the factors affecting the development of Chinese characters was not within the font and but from the outside. Practical application was fundamental factor in the evolution of the Chinese character writing carrier and tool. Chinese characters was ignoring the artistic pursuit because of the requirement of speed and efficiency these changes made the Chinese characters to simpler and more efficient direction.
