On Ways to Cultivate Key Competencies in English Teaching

英语作为学生的必修课程,除了培养学生的语言能力之外,还应促进学生核心素养的发展,使学生在英语知识的学习之外,得到思维品质、文化品格、学习能力的发展。在基础教育的英语教学中,核心素养培养的实现依赖于政策层面的具体阶段性要求,依赖于教师观念的转变和能力的提升,融于听说读写技能的培养之中。技能教学与核心素养培养相互促进,逐步进行,使学生在语言能力提高的同时,思维品质、文化品格、学习能力也得到良好的发展。

English,as a compulsory course in basic education,should not only train students’ language competence,but develop students’ key competencies as well,including quality of thinking,ability of learning and cultural awareness. In order to develop the above- mentioned key competencies,the government should set specific requirements for each stage. As for the teacher,we should update both our philosophy of teaching and our own quality of thinking. The development of these competencies should be integrated into the training of different language skills,thus fulfilling the ultimate goal of English education.
