Lemon, Candy, Sunny, Snowy, Holiday ...In an effort to keep my students awake, involved and motivated （not to mention myself）, I always sought any forms of self expression they might want to share, especially in my Western Civilization or American Pop Culture classes. Sometimes this came in the form of music. Among the instruments I was first exposed to were the erhu （a very old, simplified, mandolin type instrument） and the bamboo flute. The pride and skill these girls displayed when playing these instruments blew me away. Truly impressive and memorable.
