Objective To meta-analyze the association of the XPA polymorphism with risk of lung cancer. Methods We searched through PubMed, Embase, Medline and China National Knowledge Infra- structure for all eligible studies published up to August 2015. By the aid of Stata 13.0 software, case control studies about the association between XPA and lung cancer were screened out from both English and Chinese database to conduct a recta-analysis. The pooled OR arrd 95% CI were calculated as effect sizes. Results 12 publications about XPA polymorphisms and lung cancer were chosen( 14 studies ,4670 lung cancer cases and 5714 controls). Genotype AA increased lung cancer risk[ AA vs GG: OR = 1. 177 (95% CI 1.043- 1. 327 ) ,P = 0. 008, AA vs AG + GG : OR = 1. 219 ( 95% CI 1. 095-1. 358 ), P = 0. 001 ], especially in Asians, Mexican-Americans and hospital-based populations. Conclusion XPA polymorphisms are connected with lung cancer susceptibility as independent risk factors.
