摘要
语言能力研究存在分层分级与整体综合两种范式。其关注的焦点是作为具有能动作用的人的生物机能与环境的关系问题。先天与后天、线性与系统、静态与动态等语言能力研究的基本问题长期得不到解决。本文旨在通过分析Chomsky与Pinker等人对语言能力的论辩,学界对石毓智"语言能力合成说"争论以及动态系统理论在二语习得中的应用,指出语言能力研究必须从动态、系统和整体的多维视角加以综合探究。
There exist two research paradigms in the study of language ability: hierarchical and holistic.While their shared focus lies in the interaction between human beings as an active organism and its environment, they differ in whether it comes from nature or nurture, and whether it is linear or dimensional, and static or dynamic. This paper presents a lengthy analysis of Chomsky's debate with Pinker et al. on the nature of language ability, and also of the debate on Shi Yuzhi's view of'compositional language faculty'in China. Based on such analysis and drawing on the dynamic systems theory(DST) in SLA, it is proposed that it might be more effective to pursue the study on language ability from a dynamic, multidimensional and holistic perspective.
