信息素质教育是公共图书馆的一项重要服务项目,加拿大公共图书馆在此方面的实践取得了很大的成功。多伦多公共图书馆和温哥华公共图书馆在信息素质教育方面开展了一系列的课程和活动,它们信息素质教育的成功因素在于面向不同人群的规范的课程、财政和设备支持、馆员支持、和当地机构合作、融入学校教育以及宣传推广。
Information literacy instruction is the essential service of public libraries, and Canadian public libraries have made great progress in this field. Toronto Public Library and Vancouver Public Library have carried out a series of courses and activities about information literacy instruction. Their success depend on regular courses for different groups of people, financial and device support, library staff support, cooperation with local organization, integration into school education, and promotion.
