Analyzing the Geographical Name of Wushan County from the Language and Culture Perspective

地名是一种特殊的文化现象,它的产生、发展、演变无不受到社会因素的制约影响。地名的命名依据不但能够反映一个地区的风俗习惯、人民的心理状态等文化特征,还常常能够反映当地当时的某些自然或人文地理特征。本文试图运用文献考证、比较分析、实地调查、运用地图等方法对武山县地名的命名、含义、分类、演变及其所映射出的文化信息做一初步的探索研究。

Geographical name is a special cultural phenomenon,and its origin,development and evolution are all affected by social factors.Geographical name not only reflects the cultural features of a region,like customs,psychological state of the local people,but also often reflects the natural or human geographical characteristics in certain time and place.The thesis tries to use literature research,comparative analysis,field surveys,maps and other ways to make a preliminary study of name meaning,classification,evolution and cultural information of Wushan County.
