As a common linguistic phenomenon of all languages, first person pronouns have attracted great attention of linguists and scholars. This paper uses 11 political speeches given by Chinese and American leaders as the sample to analyze the use of first person pronouns in political speeches. Distinguished differences have been found on their frequencies and specific uses, which might result from the different linguistic features of Chinese and English, different socio-cultural factors and the quality of the chosen texts.
