Discussion on Sishen Decoction Diaphoresis in the Treatment of Acute Phase Gout

清代鲍相璈《验方新编》明言四神煎治疗鹤膝风。综观四神煎药物组成及煎服法,无特异发汗药物,为何却有"汗出如雨"之功,主要归结于黄芪量大以及煎服法,气足则能祛邪从汗而解,煎服法可助热发汗矣。而四神煎之汗法现广为运用于以膝部病变的痹症,其中以风湿性关节炎为主,但痛风也属痹症,实则对痛风的急性发作期亦有良效。

After going through all the Chinese medicine in Sishen decoction and the way of decoction,there is no special diaphoresis medicine is found,but why there is a function of diaphoresis？ The main reason for diaphoresis is that the large amount of Huangqi and the special way of decoction. Enough qi can cure disease by causing diaphoresis and expelling pathogenic factors by sweating. The way of decoction can also help to diaphoresis. Today,the diaphoresis method of Sishen decoction is widely used in bi syndrome manifested as knee pathological changes such as rheumatic arthritis. Gout is also one of the bi syndromes,so Sishen decoction has a good effect for the acute phase gout.
