Objective To compare the efficacy of nasal intermittent positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) with nasal continuous positive airway pressure (NCPAP) in neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS). Methods 80 cases of NRDS in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups, and were applied NCPAP and NIPPV, respectively. The situation of arterial blood gas analysis and complication rate in two groups were compared. Results After 12 h, the pH, PaO2, PaCO2 of children in the observed group were better than the control group (P〈0.05). Complication rate of observed group was 15.0%, significantly lower than the control group 32.5% (P〈0.05). Conclusion Compared with NCPAP and NIPPV in treatment of children with NRDS, NIPPV is efficacy and safety better.
