摘要 Beyond是香港殿堂级乐队,成立于20世纪末,他们的歌曲反映了世纪末港人的文化心态。那时的香港是一座无根的"浮城",因主权回归问题,它需对自身的文化身份进行重新定位,其中最困扰港人的是文化寻根。文化多元的香港,让世纪之交的港人在寻根路上,充满迷茫、虚浮、错失、绝望等"末世"情怀。Beyond歌曲反映的正是香港都市人的这种普遍感受,但他们又区别于香港都市人"等待死亡"的世纪末风气,以积极的精神超越迷惘,给予一代人以精神鼓舞。 Beyond is the band that reaches hall level in the end of twentieth century in Hong Kong. Their songs reflect the cultural mentality of Hong Kong dwellers. During this period, Hong Kong is a rootless "floating city". Because of sovereignty issues, it needs to relocate its own cultural identity. But the biggest problem plaguing Hong Kong dwellers is seeking cultural roots. Muhiculturalism of Hong Kong makes the people in the turn of the century full of confusion, vain, miss, despair and other "doomsday" feeling when they seeking cultural roots. Beyond' s songs reflect the general feeling of Hong Kong dwellers, but the spirit of their music different from at- mosphere of "doomsday", they go beyond this confusion with a positive spirit, and given spiritual inspiration for a generation.
