有辽一代二百余年间,内外战事不断。诸类战事大都见载于《辽史》等传世文献,但往往记载不全,多有遗漏。钧沉出土辽代石刻文字,即可对辽朝战事,诸如灭渤海之战、辽宋之战、辽丽之战、辽夏之战、北疆御敌之战以及国内平叛之战等予以补充或考证。这对全面、深入探讨辽朝战史,颇有益处。

There are constant internal and external wars during nearly two hundred years of Liao Dynasty,according to the History of Liao and other literatures handed down from ancient times,whose record is not complete with lots of omissions.The supplement research of the wars are conducted by figuring out the unearthed stone carving characters,such as the war against Bohai,the war against Song,the war against Gaoli,the war against Xia,the war against the north enemy and domestic counterinsurgency wars,etc.which is of use in the comprehensive in-depth study of the wars in Liao Dynasty.
