The technical characteristics of synthetic ammonia industry in China are introduced, and the technology gap between medium and small sized ammonia plants and large coal based ammonia plants is analyzed. In next decade, large coal based ammonia plants in China will be undergoing the best development period as before; for numerous medium and small ammonia enterprises, it is fundamental way out to make use of their human resource, market resource and raw material resource as lever, financial capital as link, national policy of low carbon economy and displacing capacity as thrust, and to seize the opportunity to development together with large coal based synthetic ammonia.
