[目的/意义]考证我国近代图书馆事业史上公认名家查修的生平和活动,以正史料并飨读者。[方法/过程]介绍查修生平及主要活动、查修与图书馆、查修的图书馆成就及主要贡献。[结果/结论]查修的大半生时光都从事图书馆工作,是我国近代获图书馆博士学位第三人,其爱国、爱馆、爱书、爱人的精神值得学习。

[Purpose/significance] The paper is to do a textual research on lifetime and activity of Lincoln Hsiu Cha, a prestigious library scholar in modern Chinese history, to correct historical documents and share with readers. [Method/process]The paper introduces Cha＇s personal lifetime and main activities, Cha and libraries, and achievements and contributions to library. [Result/conclusion] Cha spent most of his life on library, and was the third one to have a doctorate in library. It＇s worth learning from his spirit of patriotism, love library, love book and love reader.
