Sports Coverage in the Pictorial of “Young Companion ”

采用文献资料法、文本分析法、个案分析法对《良友》画报的体育新闻报道进行研究,总结其体育内容涉及的人群及特点,重点分析其对大型运动会和有关女性体育报道的内容,发现:《良友》画报体育报道涉及的人群分布比较均匀、广泛,政要名人报道频率高;《良友》共报道了3届奥林匹克运动会、3届远东运动会、3届全国运动会,同时出现了注重对冠军的报道、排版风格不断变化等特点;《良友》杂志中还出现了很多有关女性体育的报道,并分析其特点和产生的社会作用。

Founded in 1926, the Young Companion was led by five editors successively. Thanks to their efforts, the magazine is known for ＂Liangyou （literally means good friends） all over the world＂. The Young Companion covers a variety of topics, among which its records of the sports events during the era of the Republic of China is impressive. Specifically, the magazine covers three Olympic Games. three Far Eastern Championship Games, and three National Games. The study aims at restoring the reality of sports news coverage and extending the re- search on sports photography during the era of the Republic of China. This paper focuses on the analysis of the main content of the Young Companion.
