The remote control modification of gantry container crane is an important part of the automated terminal＇s construction. The reliable network is an important request for the real - time control system of gantry container crane . Es- pecially, network handoff can not be ignored when the communication system is set as wireless network system. The reasons and the effects of the network handoff are discussed in this paper, and some recommendations are put forward with the eval- uation and the selection of the modification solutions.
