As a female Chinese American writer,Maxine Hong Kingston was influenced by the development of the new feminism.In The Woman Warrior,she expressed her deep sympathy for the tragedy of the No Name Woman,rewrote Hua Mulan as a new woman warrior,and endowed Brave Orchid with courage,strength and wisdom to give her own response to the new feminism.
