Investigation and Analysis on the Employment of English Majors in College

分析了高校英语(师范)专业就业的基本问题:一是毕业生从事教育工作的较以往呈逐年下降趋势,二是毕业生的省内就业比例明显降低,三是家长的社会关系作为资源对学生就业仍起到重要作用。导致这些问题的主要原因包括地区经济发展水平差异、本省经济社会发展速度放缓以及学生本人、家庭就业观念变化等。为了促进大学生就业,应从多方面共同发力,包括加强学生实习实践能力、加强专业训练、加强学生生涯规划及就业观念的教育等。

At the present, one of the basic problems about college English majors＇（normal） employment is that the proportion of graduates who choose to work in the education field declines yearly than ever be- fore, and the second one is that the graduates employment proportion in the province is also significantly reduced, the third one is that the parents＇ social relations as a resource for students employment still play important roles. The main reasons causing these problems include regional economic development level differences, slow economic and social development of the province as well as the changes of the employ- ment concept from the students＇ family and the students themselves. In order to promote university students＇ employment rate, the approaches can be united as follows from several aspects including strengthening the students practical ability, professional training, enhancing the educations for students＇ career plan and employment concept, etc.
