摘要
本文简要评述了Michelle.Maxom.的Teaching English as a Foreign Language for Dummies一书,该书是由约翰威立国际出版公司(John.Wiley.&.Sons,.Inc.)于2009年出版。本文首先指出了该书对于英语教师尤其是新手英语教师的重要性,然后对其基本内容进行了简单介绍,之后指出了该书的闪光点及可能存在的不足之处,最后提出了该书对当代中国英语教学的指导意义。笔者希望通过对该书的评述,可以使更多的英语教师尤其是新手英语教师掌握更多的英语教学基本方法,提高英语教学效率,领会英语教学的本质。
This paper makes a review about Teaching English as a Foreign Language for Dummies which is written by Michelle Maxom. The book was published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc in 2009. Firstly, the paper points out its importance to the new English teachers; secondly, it shows the main contents of the book; thirdly, it makes some comments about the strong points and possible weak points of the book; fourthly, it presents the implications for English teaching in China. Through this review, the authors hope that English teachers, especially new ones, can master more knowledge about teaching methods and improve the efficiency of English teaching.
