On the Deep Approach to Foreign Language Learning:A Curriculum Perspective

摘要 深层外语学习法是美国威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校的涂尚(Franois Victor Tochon)教授首倡的一种外语学习方法。教师通过教学协议和问责制管理学习过程与结果;学生利用多种学习资源和语言互动自主决定并完成学习项目。基于开放系统理论和复杂理论,涂尚教授开发出IAPI教学模型,有效的教学组织工具,课程实施的方法以及以学为本的课程评价方式。深层外语学习法关注语言学习者的整体性、社会性和创造性多维度全面发展,是对传统语言教学法的一场革命,很有可能成为未来外语教育的主流范式。 The deep approach to foreign language learning( FLL) is an FLL approach initially proposed by Professor Franois Victor Tochon from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In this model,the teacher manages and monitors the learning process and outcome through the instructional agreement and accountability. The students design and complete an educative project by using multiple learning resources and language interaction. On the basis of the open system and complex theories,Prof. Tochon has developed a practical IAPI instruction model,effective instructional organizers,methods of curriculum implementation,and learning-oriented assessment. The deep approach to FLL concerns the all-round and multi-dimensional development of learners by focusing on integrity,sociality,and creativity. It poses a revolution against traditional language teaching and has the potential to become the new paradigm of FLL in the future.
