近代买办在晚清经济领域表现活跃。买办通过自身活动,客观上推动了中国自然经济的解体,为近代工业化和资本主义的发展开辟了道路;在兴办近代工业过程中,他们实现了多项"中国制造""零"的突破,为建立起中国近代门类齐全的工业体系打下了一定基础。

Modem compradors performed very actively in economy in the late Qing Dynasty. Compradors had objectively promoted the disintegration of natural economy in China through their own activities, paving the way for the development of modem industrialization and capitalism. Being setting up the modem industries, they had broken the record and created a number of ＂made in China＂, building a certain foundation for Chinese modem complete range of industrial systems. Modem compradors had created the entrepreneur spirit, which still has some significance in today＇ background of mass entrepreneurship and innovation
