巴斯内特文化翻译观视域下的汉诗英译——以元稹的《行宫》英译为例

On Translating Chinese Poetry into English from the Perspective of Bassnett's Cultural Translation Theory——Taking the English Versions of Yuan Zhen's Xinggong As Examples

中国古诗语言含蓄凝练,蕴含着独特而丰富的文化元素。在汉诗英译过程中,译者如何翻译这些文化元素关乎翻译成败。巴斯内特提出文化翻译是诗歌翻译的核心,译者应在理解原诗的基础上充分展现其文化内涵及引申意义。基于巴斯内特的文化翻译观,本文尝试以元稹的《行宫》英译为例,探索汉诗英译过程中的文化翻译。

The language of Classical Chinese poetry is very implicit and concise, and contains a unique and rich cultural elements. Dur？ing the process of translating Chinese poetry into English, how to translate these cultural elements matters the success and failure of the translation. Bassnett states that cultural translation is the core of poetry translation, and as a translator, one should fully demonstrate the cultural connotation and implied meaning of the poetry on the basis of the better understanding of it. Basing on Bassnett’ s cultural translation theory, this paper is trying to probe into the cultural translation during the process of translating Chinese poetry into English, taking the English versions of Yuan Zhen’ s Xinggong as examples.
