安全工程专业外语课程教学中调查的几点思考

Some Thoughts on the Investigation of the Safety Engineering Specialty English Teaching

专业英语的设置对学生综合素质的培养必不可少,但是专业英语教学中也存在很多问题。本文通过于2014年11月和2015年11月分别对某高校两届大三的学生进行"安全工程专业英语"课程调研,并分析结果,得到以下结论 :部分学生对专业英语课程的学习不够重视;部分学生对专业英语的认识不足,且应付考试心理较重;部分学生没有将专业课的知识与专业英语的学习联系起来,还是按照学习大学英语的方法在学习专业英语;专业英语任课老师没有发挥自己的特长;学生认为学习专业英语中存在的主要问题从大到小为翻译、阅读、写作、口头交流。

The setting of specialty English is essential to the cultivation of students＇ comprehensive quality, but there are many problems in the teaching of English majors. This paper makes an investigation on ＇＇Safety Engineering Specialty English＇＇ course among two sessions of junior students in a university in November 2014 and November 2015, analyzes the results, and gets the following conclusions： some students pay little attention to the study of specialty English course; some students lack understanding of specialty English; some students do not link the knowledge of other specialty courses and specialty English course, or use the method of learning college English in the study of professional English; specialty English teachers do not give full play to their strengths; students think that the major problems in learning specialty English involve translation, reading, writing and oral communication.
