关联理论视角下《论语》中文化负载词的翻译研究

On the Translation of Cultural-loaded Words in the Analects from the Perspective of Relevance Theory

关联理论对典籍翻译有着很强的解释力。典籍翻译中,文化负载词的翻译对中西文化的传递以及交流有着至关重要的作用,是对译者的极大挑战。以《论语》为例,运用关联理论中的最佳关联原则,译者可以更好地解释和还原文化负载词所承载的历史文化信息以及民情风俗。

Relevance theory has a strong explanatory pow er in the classics translation. It is a big challenge for translatorssince the translation of cultural-loaded expressions in classics is of vital importance for the cultural transmissionand communication between China and western countries. By using the optimal relevance principle of relevance theory,the translator can better explain and restore the historical cultural information and customs. This paper exploresthe positive effects of relevance theory in the English translation of the cultural-loaded words by using different versionsof the Analects as examples.
