王锺陵的《20世纪中西文论史》是为中西文论作世纪性总结的巨作,将哲学思辨与文学史观照熔为一炉。作者对西方各家文论注重全景式的理论把握,从其整体的哲学或学术体系出发,抉剔文论所有的逻辑理路和蕴含的思想内核,并以自身原创的理论建树展现了中西对话的姿态和精神。中国文论部分则以文体史和文体论为中心,特点是众体皆备,史论浑融。作者以文体的本体论建构为原点,进而在文体流变的生动过程中破解其发展的内在动力结构,既赋予了文体史以较高的理论品位,又使文体论获得了鲜活的世间相。该著对新文艺理论体系提出的构想所具有的主要经验和启示是:国际视野、哲学精神、现实关切和原创意识,以开放的态势突破"社会政治学"模式,迎接新的思想世界和文艺世界的到来。
The book is a summary of the literary theories of China and the West linking philosophy to literary history. The author makes a paroramic grasp of all literary theories and analysizes the logic and the key thoughts of these theories, demonstrating the attitude of the diague between China and the West. The part on Chinese literary theories is centered on the history and discussions of literary forms. It starts with a discussion on the ontology, and proceeds with a study on its inner driving force of its development. The book suggests that international horizon, philosophical thinking, actual concerns and innovative sense are the primary enlightment of the new literary criticism system construction.
