摘要
基于TSMC RF 0.18μm CMOS工艺,设计了一种可应用于IEEE 802.11ac标准的5GHz宽带LC压控振荡器。该振荡器采用了NMOS交叉耦合结构,同时采用了5位开关电容阵列以扩展调谐范围。开关电容阵列使压控振荡器的增益KVCO保持在一个较小的值,有效地降低了压控振荡器的相位噪声。后仿真结果表明,该压控振荡器在1.8V电源电压下,功耗为9mW,频率调谐范围为4.52-5.56GHz,在偏离中心频率1 MHz处仿真得到的相位噪声为-124dBc/Hz。该LC压控振荡器的版图尺寸为320μm×466μm。
Based on TSMC RF 0.18μm CMOS process,a 5 GHz broadband LC voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO)for IEEE 802.11 ac standard was proposed.A NMOS cross couple structure was utilized,and a 5bit switched capacitor array was used to extend the tuning range,which had made KVCObe at a low value to effectively reduce VCO's phase noise.The post simulation results showed that the VCO dissipated 9 mW from a 1.8 V supply,and its frequency tuning range was from 4.52 GHz to 5.56 GHz.The simulated phase noise was-124dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from center frequency.The LC VCO occupied a chip area of 320μm×466μm.
