On the Artistry of Jin Yong's Fiction

金庸通过他的武侠小说,创造了中国现代文学史上的一个奇迹,使一向被称作“市井文学”的武侠小说,登堂入室,融入文学主流。金庸的创作提高了武侠小说的艺术水准与文化品位,使历史上一向不登大雅之堂的武侠小说。真正具有了文学意义的品位和规格,故被人称之为“武林文宗”。

Jin Yong created a wonder in the history of modern Chinese literature, through his swordsman fiction. With his efforts, swordsman fiction, which used to be considered as 'marketplace literature' has reached a higher level, become one of the principal aspects of literature. Jin Yong is thus called 'Literary Father of Martial Arts Circles.
