Ershuntongyinji is the first-hand material to study Du Xue-ying who was the first minister of Harbin. It collects his friends poets to celebrate his birthday when he was sixty years old. Based on Ershuntongyinji,it is confirmed that Du was born in 1857. Then,according to Du Fu-yuan＇s curriculum vitae in the imperial examinations,the family social standing of Du Xue-ying is clarified,providing a new starting point for further research.
