金泽市位于日本本州岛的中部,是石川县的县政府所在地。金泽的名字起源于这样一个故事:一位名叫芋掘藤五郎的农民,靠挖马铃薯为生。他把马铃薯上的金砂都洗入一口井,现在被称为金城灵泽,因此该地就被命为金泽,意为"黄金的沼泽"。[1]大约五百年以前,一向宗的教徒们在"金泽御坊"建立了一个宗教性质的政府,后来那里成为了金泽城的所在,是为金泽市的历史开端。金泽既是日本重要的历史名城,也是环日本海的代表性城市。

Since the earth covered the potatoes was a mixture of gold dust and earth, the city was called ＂Kanazawa＂ which means ＂bog of gold＂. About 500 years ago,Ikko-Ikki built up a religious government which later became the loca- tion of Kanazawa. This is the beginning of the history of this city. Kanazawa is not only a fa- mous historical city but also a representative city of the coastal cities.
